How To Prevent Leg Cramps When You’re Pregnant

It’s an unfortunate fact, but leg cramps are part of the pregnancy experience. Still, there are things you can do to help prevent leg cramps so you can be more comfortable and enjoy your pregnancy more.

Some tips for preventing leg cramps when pregnant:

  • Exercise.
  • Rest with your legs elevated.
  • Wear support stockings, the same ones people wear to relieve varicose veins.
  • Apply heat and massage.
  • Don’t stretch when you wake up in the morning.
  • If none of these tips helps your leg cramps, you need to be checked out by your doctor because your leg cramps may be a side effect of irregularities in your potassium or calcium levels.
