Here's what you need to know before you decide on a particular  car seat:

#1  It's important to have your newborn baby car seat picked out and ready to go before your child is born. In fact, the sooner the better, in the event that your baby is born happy, healthy... and early! Otherwise, you will not be able to leave the hospital with your newborn.

#2  If you decide to purchase a used car seat (or you receive a secondhand car seat as a gift), find out the history of that particular brand, make and model of car seat before you use it! Some car seats have been recalled due to problems that compromised childrens' safety, so you need to make sure that your secondhand car seat is not one of the ones that have been recalled. Used car seats may also have cracks, missing instructions, or other issues that would compromise your baby's safety.

Paternal Postnatal Depression - The Male Version Of Postpartum Depression Is VERY Real!

Usually when you think about postnatal depression you think about mothers, and of course for them it's called postpartum depression.

However, it's important to know that fathers can suffer from postnatal depression as well.

In one study of 26,000 parents, it was determined that 4% of the fathers experienced symptoms associated with postnatal depression. (For the sake of comparison, typically 10 to 15% of mothers suffer from postpartum depression.)

Most couples (and even many physicians) are simply not aware that fathers can suffer just as much from postnatal depression as mothers do. Yes indeed, fathers can experience the exact same symptoms of depression after the birth of a baby.

Cord Blood Banking: The Pros & Cons

If you're pregnant, then chances are you've thought about cord blood banking.

There are a number of pros, as well as cons, when it comes to banking your baby's umbilical cord blood.

Here are a few of the reasons to consider cord blood banking:
