The symptoms of fetal alcohol syndrome aren’t just physical.
They are also mental, in fact the brain is always affected in some way.
If a woman drinks alcohol when she’s pregnant, she can permanently damage her child.
It is possible for no visible or behavioral symptoms to become apparent until that child enters school where such problems can be misdiagnosed as learning disabilities.
Some symptoms of fetal alcohol syndrome are:
- Memory problems
- Perception problems
- Inability to problem solve
- Inability to understand math concepts
- Small eyelid openings
- Short upturned nose
- Reduced head size

My favorite things to write about are topics that have to do with weather, pregnancy, weddings, saving money, living green, and my life with dogs. When I’m not writing, I love to spend time with my husband, read, create 3D artwork and Native American beadwork.
